about

This song is from the perspective of Heretic Pyromancer Eingyi from the game Dark Souls. It is alternatively about a total drunk who gets his wife to drink with him during pregnancy which results in their kids getting fetal alcohol syndrome and dying. Cheery? Actually yes!

lyrics

I was a fireman
But the poison that I brewed
Was too strong
So I was out of a job before too long
But my fair lady dear
Showed me the greatest compassion
That was ever known in this town
Gave me a baby moved to burbs and there we settled down

You know I can’t let her go
I can’t let her die
I can’t free her soul
Cuz she saved my life
But she’s not doing well
She’s not doing fine
If she passes away
Then the blame is mine

The people here have become quite nasty
This town is full of Bloodsuckers, lunatics, maneaters, and bullies
Ya know some jerk sicked his two dogs on me the other day
I bet these creeps are all on mushrooms or something I know a grow room can’t be far away

You know I can’t let her go
I can’t let her die
I can’t free her soul
Cuz she saved my life
But she’s not doing well
She’s not doing fine
If she passes away
Then the blame is mine
You know I can’t let her go
I can’t let her die
I can’t free her soul
Cuz she saved my life
But she’s not doing well
She’s not doing fine
If she passes away
Then the blame is mine

I’m sorry baby,
But the children are dead
I’m sorry sweetest,
But your children are dead
Ya know I shouldn’t have gotten you to drink as much
And I shouldn’t have drank as much myself
If I could do every bit of it over again
I’d pack it up put that life back on the shelf
But as it stands I took it out
Which messed us up, without a doubt
So all I can do is clasp my hands
And try to pray away the poison

You know I can’t let her go
I can’t let her die
I can’t free her soul
Cuz she saved my life
But she’s not doing well
She’s not doing fine
If she passes away
Then the blame is mine
You know I can’t let her go
I can’t let her die
I can’t free her soul
Cuz she saved my life
But she’s not doing well
She’s not doing fine
If she passes away
Then the blame is mine
the blame is mine
the blame is mine
the blame is mine
